Cells Stimulate Each Other in Monolayers

tipkick

Steven Chisolm's recent work on MDCK monolayers shows that cells don't just slow each other down as they become crowded. In the low-density limit they actually speed up with increasing density, indicating that they stimulate each other. Similarly, in some limits, increasing cohesion can lead to faster motion, while in other limits it leads to slower motion. Read about it here.
